Glacier the icy cool colorway reminiscent of the good ole GBA. It's not just translucent, it's translucent cool. I'd put Glacier above Atomic Purple or Ice Silver - both proper frosty colors.
I've looked in the Retro Handheld community and found out glacier handhelds are rare. Rare in the sense that Black, White and Gray variations reign supreme. Glacier is, indeed, a rare colorway. It's boring, plain, unassuming, flimsy-looking. No mystery. Just clear. But it's not just clear clear. It's translucent. There's a certain haziness and frost to it that differentiates it from the standard Transparent Clear colorway.
What makes Glacier glacier?
The shell isn't just transparent, it's translucent with a blue hue, and white buttons. Modern versions have a combination of white and translucent buttons. They look icy... like a block of ice.
So, while this Retroid Pocket 4 Pro looks glacial, it's not glacier. It's just transparent. They call it Crystal.
This Anbernic RG35XX H isn't glacier, either.
Nor does this custom shell and button kit for the Switch Lite called Crystal Clear.
Speaking of Retroid, Retroid and AYN's implementation of skittle buttons is beautiful. Just the right amount of cute and cool.
Glacier Handhelds
Anbernic RG34XX
An impressive clone of Game Boy Advance.
MagicX Mini Zero 28 V2
If it was any smaller, I'd be tempted to put it in a glass of iced coffee.
As of June 2026, I found 2 Glacier Handhelds, so far.
What I'm looking forward
More glacier handhelds. Modern glacier versions.
Also, more green handhelds. Apple Green / Neon Green / Mint Green.

I saw this GBA custom shell called Clear Yellow. It looks Neon Lime Green which is just lovely and very close to what I'm looking for in a green handheld.
